Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 17, 2026
At XRD Analyzer, accessible from xrd.raymsm.com, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that are collected and recorded by XRD Analyzer and how we use it. If you have additional questions or require more information about our Privacy Policy, do not hesitate to contact us at support@raymsm.com.
1. Client-Side Data Processing (Zero-Data Upload)
Unlike traditional web-based scientific applications, XRD Analyzer is engineered on a client-side architecture using WebAssembly (Pyodide). When you upload experimental diffraction data (.xy, .csv, .txt, .raw, .xrdml) or crystal structures (.cif), this data never leaves your computer.
All numerical processing, peak fitting, background removal, and simulations are performed locally in your browser's memory. No files are uploaded to our servers, stored in our caches, or shared with third parties. Your raw research remains entirely under your control.
2. Local Storage Usage
To improve user experience, this application uses browser local storage (localStorage) to save:
- Custom Crystallographic Information Files (.cif) you upload to your matching library.
- Your saved analysis sessions, parameters, and peak results.
- Your theme preferences (light/dark mode).
- Your cookie banner consent choices.
This data is stored locally on your device's browser and is not synchronized with any external databases. You can clear this data at any time by wiping your browser cache or using the "Reset" options inside the app settings.
3. Google AdSense & Cookie Policies
XRD Analyzer serves advertisements through Google AdSense. Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads on our site based on your visits to our site and other pages on the internet.
Google uses the DoubleClick DART cookie to serve relevant ads. You can opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google Ad and Content Network Privacy Policy at: policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Other third-party ad networks may also use cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements. XRD Analyzer has no access to or control over these cookies used by third-party advertisers. We recommend consulting the respective Privacy Policies of these third-party ad servers for more detailed information.
4. Log Files & Web Analytics
XRD Analyzer follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this as part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.
Additionally, we deploy Cloudflare Web Analytics to monitor pageviews and site latency. This tool is privacy-preserving, does not use cookies, and does not track personal browsing sessions.
5. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Rights
We want to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:
- The right to access: You have the right to request copies of your personal data. (Since we collect no personal data, this is limited to your server connection logs).
- The right to rectification: You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate.
- The right to erasure: You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
- The right to restrict processing: You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
- The right to object to processing: You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
- The right to data portability: You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
6. Consent
By using our website, you hereby consent to our Privacy Policy and agree to its Terms and Conditions. You can adjust your cookie preferences at any time through your web browser configurations or by clearing local storage data for `xrd.raymsm.com`.
